Paris Pt.2 - Buying our European Holiday Home

We spent the first night in a pretty nice hotel in the centre of town, just a five minute walk from the Eiffel Tower. However the Tower would have to wait until tomorrow as we had some serious shopping to do! Not for clothes or the usual cool stuff you'd expect someone to buy while in Paris, no. We were purchasing what would become our new home for the next 7 weeks. We deliberated for a little while but in the end the choice was easy. Seriously, who could resist these features?

"Open plan living, indoor/outdoor gas kitchen, his and hers bathrooms, ever changing views, ample parking, natural light and ventilation with a soothing blue and grey colour scheme."

Our new home for the next 7 weeks … a tent. Considering we'd only learnt a few French words at this point, and the assistants in the shop spoke no English, we managed to do pretty well. We walked out of there with a 3 person 'pop-up' tent, 2 x self-inflating mattresses, 2 x sleeping bags, 2 x blow-up pillows (yes, we're still regretting that one!!!) and a camping stove.

(Note: it's a bit hard to tell but this is the view of the Eiffel Tower from our tent at night)

  1. Christian's loving the idea of camping throughout Europe.

Alli is not (although maybe in Paris I will! But only in Paris!)

  2. Haha, Paris is probably the only place I would recommend you DON'T camp in ;)
