On our second day we took a gondola up to the top of Mt. Pilatus in Luzern. You might remember this mountain from old dragon stories. Although I'd never heard of it before, the story of 'How the Young Cooper was Saved by the Pilatus Dragon' was actually one of Alice's favourites as a kid so she extra excited to be in this legendary place.
To get to the top you have to take a small gondola ride (about 10 - 15 minutes) up to a certain point. After that you get off and jump into a big gondola that can carry around 20-30 people up to the top. The views were spectacular, however, at an altitude of 2,120 metres it did get a little chilly up there.
